Avodah Project:

Revitalizing Work

Avodah is a Hebrew word that is translated both as work and as worship in the Bible. While Sunday might seem like a different world than Monday, the Bible says that your work can be worship and should be glorifying to God.

The Avodah Project (pronounced AH-vo-dah) exists to equip and encourage Christians to be a creative presence in the workplace. We say creative not to emphasize the creative arts, but to emphasize our call to be proactively participating in the work of Jesus and the Kingdom he brings in all of our workplaces.

count me in

The next CMI service day will be April 22, 2017

Check out some photos from our last CMI.

What is Count Me In?

Count Me In service projects grow out of the conviction that God's grace rightly received will manifest itself in loving actions towards others. Through yard work, light construction and housecleaning, we seek to express God's lovingkindness to the elderly and the needy in our area. Along the way, we end up strengthening friendships and experiencing the joy of serving others.

We will gather at Ocean View Elementary School at 8:30am, and most groups are finished by 1:00pm. We hope you'll consider joining the ranks of our volunteers. We'll find a project that fits your expertise and experience and place you on a team of fellow workers (usually 4-6). You don't need to brings tools but if you have them and are willing to bring them, we'll put them to use.

This event is open to anyone willing to serve, regardless of religious background. We also have children and youth projects (first grade and above).

If you have any questions or would like more information, please email us

Homeless Outreach

Albany Shower Program

As Jesus encouraged us to serve the poor & disenfranchised in our communities, Solano has for several years made homeless outreach a central part of our mission. As such, a year ago we helped establish Albany's free shower program for people experiencing homelessness. We are currently looking for occasional or regular volunteers to help with a variety of tasks on Thursday mornings (8-9am) OR afternoons (1-3pm) for sandwich prep, sandwich distribution, welcoming team, etc. For more details contact Evelyne St-Louis at evelyne.stl@gmail.com.

Living Hope Neighborhood Church, Richmond

We have come alongside Living Hope Neighborhood Church in Richmond to serve food and share the gospel with those in need of a free meal on Saturday mornings. A group from Solano serves on every third Saturday of the month, 8am-10am. For more details contact Dakota Dietz at dakota@solanochurch.org.

SF Mission

SF Mission exists to raise up a family of urban missionaries who make disciples by baptizing people and teaching them to obey.

We envision a new gospel-centered simple church in every neighborhood of San Francisco, within walking distance of every resident of the city. We envision 40 disciple-making teams developed, empowered, and released to start these new churches.

God called Pastor Brent Kompelien to this ministry in 2014. Brent was the Assistant Pastor at SCC and is now leading this disciplemaking initiative.
