Ministry Academy is a way of training for a specific area of service, such as worship. Attend a Sunday and connect with one of our ministry leaders to find out how you can pursue training in any ministry area.

Avodah is our Faith & Work Ministry that equips and encourage Christians to be fully present in the workplace. While Sunday might seem like a different world than Monday, the Bible says that your work can be worship and should be glorifying to God. Apprenticeships and Internships are a way to learn about ministry, serve the church and explore whether God is calling you to a life of ministry in a particular area. We offer internships once per year, so email

info at solanochurch.org if you’d like to find out more.

Agape Team Ministries provide opportunities to serve our local community.

    Count Me In

Mission Statement: Bringing the good news of Christ to our neighbors by serving their needs.

What We Organize: Service projects to people in the community that need help taking care of their homes, whether because of age, illness, injury, or any other reason. We mobilize the entire church to serve twice a year in the spring and in the fall, but also take on individual projects as they arise throughout the year.

    Contact: info at solanochurch.org

    Homelessness and Poverty

Mission Statement: Our mission is to follow Jesus’ example to show the love of God in tangible ways to our neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty. We do this by working together as a church and by partnering with local nonprofit groups in our communities. Out of the recognition of being children of God, we are all equal and all in need. The goals of this ministry are to grow our compassion and understanding towards the homeless and poor, and to act to help.

What We Organize: Volunteer opportunities and donation drives through CityTeam Oakland and the Albany DHWG (Albany Diverse Housing Working Group). Past and ongoing opportunities to serve: Turkey Drive, Adopt A Family Christmas Drive, DHWG Shower Program and Sandwich Distribution every Friday, Quarterly CityTeam Hope Cafe Dinner, Neighborhood Church Monthly Homeless Breakfast every 4th Saturday.

    Contact: info at solanochurch.org

    International Students and Scholars

Mission Statement: Reaching international students and scholars so they might experience Gospel transformation together that they can take with them wherever they go.
